Snowshoeing and Cross-Country Ski Tours 2023/2024

Sharing the natural world since 1989. We offer naturalist-guided snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and wildlife tours in Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park. Tours are catered to the group’s interests and physical abilities with family-friendly, aerobic/active and nature-focused options. Guests need to dress as if they are going skiing with warm, layered clothing and a waterproof outer layer. A winter hat, gloves, neck gaiter, and warm, waterproof boots are required.

Tours Include: Educated naturalist guide, use of interpretive materials, binoculars, souvenir water bottle and extra water, backpacks, snowshoe rental, transportation, snacks or lunch.  Some tours include cross-country ski gear, others do not, so be sure to read what each tour includes.  If gear is not included, it can be rented locally.

Guests Bring: Layered clothing and warm, waterproof boots for snowshoeing and skiing tours. Boots and cross country skis can be rented locally for tours that do not include gear.

Half Day Cross-Country Ski Tour

Designed for all skill levels, this tour offers an opportunity to experience the peaceful beauty of a western winter.  Glide through the snow as you explore the largest private ranch in the Jackon Hole Valley.  You will have the opportunity to ski along the banks of the Snake River while taking in the unhindered views of the Tetons.  On the trail, our guides will share their expert knowledge, point out local flora and fauna, and tell their favorite Jackson Hole stories!

Offered daily, from 9 am to 1 pm or 1 pm to 5 pm, price is $215 per person and includes round-trip transportation from your lodging in Jackson or Teton Village, all equipment, snacks and drinks.  Tour is approximately 4 hours.

Full Day Wildlife and Cross-Country Ski Excursion 

Offered daily, this tour is from 7:30 am to 5 pm and is private only. You’ll start your day with an amazing wildlife tour of Grand Teton National Park where wildlife is abundant during the winter months.  You’ll then enjoy a delicious catered lunch back at their private lodge (or creekside along the Snake River if you prefer!), before you head out for an afternoon of cross-country skiing in the pristine beauty of a private ranch that boasts amazing Teton views throughout.   Price is $2375 for 1-5 people, $475 for each additional person.  Tour includes round-trip transportation from your lodging in Jackson or Teton Village, all cross-country equipment, catered lunch in a private ski lodge, HD binoculars and spotting scopes and complimentary spirits back at the lodge to end the day!  This trip is fully customizable to you so give us a call to discuss options.  

The Explorer (Half-Day Snowshoeing or Cross-Country Skiing)

Enjoy the beauty that is unique to Jackson Hole and the Grand Teton mountains as you snowshoe or cross-country ski through snow-covered trees and open fields.  Tours are catered to the group with family-friendly, aerobic/active and nature-focused options.

This tour is ideal for those with more time to explore and discover and is customized for the group. There is a 72-hour advanced notice for lunch orders.

Snowshoe Sampler (2.5 hours)

Two location options in Grand Teton National Park:  Taggert Lake or Granite Canyon.

Join us to learn about winter ecology and explore the pristine beauty and solitude of Grand Teton National Park on snowshoes. Snowshoes, gaiters, poles, transportation from the town of Jackson, bottled water, and the use of waist packs are included.

Private tours only offered daily from 9:30 a.m. to noon or 1 to 3:30 p.m.

CANCELLATION POLICY:  All tours have a 72 hour cancellation policy (unless otherwise noted) and are subject to a 20% JH Concierge cancellation fee, regardless of when cancellation occurs.  Cancellation policy will be extended during holiday touring to 7 days and non-refundable, between the dates of December 20- January 3, 2024.

Wildlife Tours and Combination Snoeshoe Tours

Half-Day Wildlife Tour + Snowshoe Sampler

Combine wildlife viewing with snowshoeing in Grand Teton National Park. You’ll visit mixed habitats of elk, moose, deer, fox, bighorn sheep, eagles, trumpeter swans and so much more. Afterward, guests will enjoy the serenity of snowshoeing for about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Enjoy a full day of outdoor adventure exploring and discovering Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park. This tour is fully customized for each private group. Choose to start the day wildlife viewing in mixed habitats with lunch at historic Dornan’s in Moose and an afternoon of snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. Or choose to spend the full day in the backcountry with a picnic lunch in the spectacular winter landscape.

Snowshoe + Elk Sleigh Ride

Explore Grand Teton National Park and the National Elk Refuge. Combine a private snowshoe tour in Grand Teton National Park with lunch at historic Dornan’s in Moose. Then travel through the majestic elk heard on the National Elk Refuge by horse-drawn sleigh. The sleigh ride portion is a public, group experience.
